2013 REGISTRATION INFORMATION
1). 2013 Team registration is $100. With that you will receive $25 worth of our $5000 draw fundraising tickets. You can sell them to get your $25 increase back or put your team name on the tickets for a chance to win the prize drawn at the annual recognition dinner in October 2013.
2). All minor team coaches (U18 and below) must submit a criminal record check along with their team registrations. That means ALL coaches on a team. (bench coach, base coach, practice coach). This is a requirement of our insurance carrier. If you have already completed this with another sport or it was required because you coached in a school district or for work, we will accept one done within the last 3 years. This is confidential information and will be treated as such under the privacy act. There are two ways to do this: contact municipal regional police in your area or local RCMP detachment depending on where you live. Tell them you are a volunteer, a sample letter is available if you need one. Please contact softball@softballnb.ca for more information if required. Anyone who does NOT have this completed prior to the season WILL NOT be allowed to coach at any tournament that SNB is involved in (provincials, easterns or nationals).
CANpitch RPI training - Fredericton April 21st, 2013 (school location TBA). If you are interested in becoming a REGIONAL PITCHING INSTRUCTOR (RPI) CANpitch instructor, you must apply to CANpitch MPI (master pitching instructor) Brian Sheldrick briands@nbnet.nb.ca or Pete McLean. A committment is required of 2 yrs for this program.
We welcome Kelly Lynch of Quispamsis and KVGSA as our new Learn to Play Coordinator for SNB. There is 1 vacancy on the board - minor coordinator. If you are interested in this volunteer position, please contact Bev Adams or Pete McLean for more information.
Interested in a CANpitch clinic for your team during SPRING 2013? Please contact us so that information can be sent and you can reserve a clinic. This is a 6 week clinic, coaches attend for free, pitcher cost is $65 and includes a CANpitch t-shirt. Check under programs for more information!
Softball NB is pleased to announce that SIMPLY FOR LIFE (SFL) is the 2013 sponsor of our U10 Learn to Play program. All registered U10 LTP teams will receive new LTP shirts free of charge from the sponsor. SFL was founded by Bruce & Claudine Sweeney of NB. They currently have offices in the Maritimes, Quebec and Alberta with the head office in Saint John NB. Claudine is also the Technical Director of the KV Girls Softball Association and a member of SNB's Hall of Fame. She played for Memramcook (gold medal junior women's Canadian Championship) and Team Canada in 1991 at the Jr Women's World Championships. We're thrilled to welcome Claudine, Bruce and Simply for Life to our Softball NB family!
