Foundations of Coaching Softball

For all new coaches to softball (no previous softball NCCP training), the Foundations of Coaching Softball (FOCS) Part 1 online module is a pre-requisite for the Community Softball stream of coaching.

 

For all coaches wanting to take the Softball Competition Introduction coaching clinics (required at U11+), the Foundations of Coaching Softball (FOCS) Part 1 & Part 2 online modules are a pre-requisite. 

 

In order to obtain your FOCS Part 1 and/or 2 you must go to www.coach.ca

  1. Either Log In or Create an Account*
  2. Choose eLearning - then select from the Multi-Sport tab - Softball.
  3. Choose Foundations of Coaching Softball - Part 1 and proceed
    • Part 1 module will cost $10.00 (60-75 mins to complete)
    • Part 2 module will cost $15.00 (75-90 mins to complete)

Foundations of Coaching Softball - Part 1

Designed for all coaches starting their coaching career. It provides an orientation to becoming a coach within Softball Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), as well as an introduction to long-term player development, safety considerations, and working with players and parents 

Foundations of Coaching Softball - Part 2 

Designed for all coaches in their coaching career, and builds off Foundations of Coaching Softball - Part 1. It covers the coaching process, long-term player development, teaching methods, and individual skill development.
